Expectations
There are a lot of new users, and I want to make sure we are clear about what online streaming is and what it isn’t.
Cable:
Cable services offer you nearly 97% reliability. It just works. With that said, cable services often charge you $150+ per month and in my experience, offer much less. Each ppv event will cost you $85+ . Each sports package will cost you $100’s per season/Sport. Renting a new release movie on Apple TV or Disney will cost you around $29.99 each! It is reliable, but really expensive.
Online Streaming:
Online streaming is not cable. You are not paying $150+ per month. It is not perfect by any standards. It usually works 99% of the time. Even if you do everything right, providers will have issues at times. With that said, you can get live tv for about $10 per month depending on which package you have. You pay a FRACTION of the cost of regular cable or even other streaming services. In most cases, watching a single sporting event makes it worth the entire 6 months of service.
Risks:
While things have been and should continue to be very stable, the service providers can close down at anytime without warning. We do not have control over them. When they stop working, they do not provide any refunds to us or to you. All purchases are sold as is. Keep that in mind when you choose to renew. We choose the best providers to ensure you have the best experience. Your rep has no control over the service providers, content, channels or programming.
If you aren’t ok with things not working perfectly or the risks involved, the good news is you can always go back to cable services. Online streaming is not for everyone, and that’s ok.
Expectations need to be realistic and we need to keep things in perspective. For the majority of people, online streaming allows us to enjoy tv, movies and shows that we most likely wouldn’t be able to watch. Only you can determine what your specific needs are.
